Why Longhorns?

Why Texas Longhorns?

Texas Longhorns. They are one of the most iconic figures in the American West, most commonly known and identified for their distinctive and very impressive horns. Why would we want to raise them?

To answer this question all somebody would really need to do is to take a long look at one. Anyone and everyone who is able to see them agree on one thing immediately, they are an IMPRESSIVE sight.

Outside the initial awe at how beautiful they are, there are a number of other reasons why raising longhorn cattle is an easy choice.

  • LEAN BEEF. What, you say finding beef that is low in cholesterol and leaner than chicken (99% FAT FREE) is impossible? It's not.
  • HARDY. Longhorns came to America with the one and only Christopher Columbus. They later nearly became extinct until fairly recently (historically speaking). After their near extinction the population of Longhorn cattle are on the rise with herds thriving in climates ranging from the humid parts of Florida, the dry hot landscape of the state they are named after as well as the cold fields of Canada. They will eat just about anything without complaint or troubles. Need to keep a field's grass down? Don't go out and buy a goat.....get a Longhorn.
  • THEY ARE GORGEOUS. Just look at them once and you are impressed. I really don't need to say anything more here, take a look at our herd and just see for yourself.
